Devin and his
mom, not a dry eye in the house.... boy Bikers are tough :)
Devin with his mom, little sister and Dad.. everyone was moved by the
support from PGR.
Here we are at SD
Airport... the crowd was amazing
Bev and I did 450 miles round trip for this mission, and it was worth
every mile.
Good Luck Devin... see you when you return!
On July 3rd, we received this letter from
Devin's Mom:
Hello Dear PGR,
Words cannot express the amazing send off you
did for Devin yesterday. I went on line to find some words that would
help me to express our appreciation. One word stuck out to me;
'revealing'. The meaning of the word is 'to bring to view'. Which is
what you all did in a real way for Devin. You showed our Amazing
military men and women that they are not alone, that people do love and
support them, and you revealed the true heart of an American, and you
did it in such a big way! It's hard for Devin to believe that you did
this for him. He knows it's for THEM. Devin will take this all back to
Iraq, and tell them about it. What you have done will be spread to the
hearts and minds of Troops.
Do you know how important those
little words of wisdom you gave Devin are to him? To us? It's something
that we couldn't give him; it could only come from someone who's been
there.
I have a favorite line in the Bible when it comes to my
children, its LUKE 2:19 "But Mary treasured up all these things and
pondered them in her heart." Yesterday was one of those days. I will
always treasure it.
From the airport, we met Barbaralee Monday
and Jamie and their entourage at the McClousky (ship) spent time with
them as well as getting to know some of the PGR. To top it off, they
also went to the USO at the San Diego Airport last night. They walked
in with Flags flying and took time to visit with some of our Awesome
military who where waiting to to fly out or get to their base.~ it was
wonderful to see~
Thank you for sharing our day, and making it
truly memorable for our whole family. We were blessed to meet you
all.Thank you for your prayers and we'll keep in touch, you are family.
If you're a Vietnam Vet, Welcome home. We love you, you are our sons
and daughters.
Here is a poem that Devins dad Ron wrote, who was in awe over your
outpouring of support:
Patriot Riders
They get on their Iron Horse and ride
They do it with grace, they do it with pride.
They show our boys support, 'cause they've been there
These true Americans, they really care.
They can see reflection in our your boys eyes
Of the guys they knew that paid the price.
And 'forgotten' is something that will never happen again
These boys are all hero's the Patriots will forever defend.
From my heart I want to thank you, for what you do
To know the real meaning of the Red, White and Blue.
And for every soldier that ever died
stay on your Iron horse and ride.
